(I love the Jean Patou dress on the left in this picture...I would sport that in a heartbeat!)
I am endlessly amazed by the power of the internet. Today I was reviewing my blog stats and on the first two pages of visitors I had folks from the following countries:
USA
Egypt
UK
Japan
Bulgaria
Ireland
Ukraine
Germany
Switzerland
Sweden
France
Italy
Russian Federation
Australia
New Zealand
India
Turkey
Hungary
Canada
That's just the first two pages of stats!
What's amazing to me is that you can sit at your computer and upload a few pictures and thoughts and post them online and they can reach around the world to people you will never meet. Yet somehow, your thoughts and your work have touched them. It's like sending out little crafty messages in bottles and watching them wash ashore.
So to all of my readers near and far, I want to say, "Thank you."
We're in the middle of a blizzard here in my little corner of the world, already buried under at least a foot of snow, we may have almost two more when it's over. I know I've mentioned this before, but I shall repeat that I do not like being cold, I do not like snow and I'm not a fan of winter. I'm feeling the suffocating weight of the winter blues and reminding myself with regularity that spring will come again as it always does. The birds have already started returning and their sweet songs are the harbingers of warmer days that are just around the proverbial corner.
Think warm thoughts, Madge..
I wonder, gentle reader, what is it like where you are? Is it cold? Is it warm? Is it sunny or rainy or snowy? I'd love to know! Please leave a comment and tell me.
Warmest regards,
Madge

Hi Margot, we are having a cold winter here in Glasgow, Scotland. Normally we get very little snow, but we did get some just before Christmas that lasted several weeks, which has never happened in the 8 years I've been living here. Before that, I could only remember one other snowfall, a few years back in early March. We have no snow now, it's just sunny and cold!

Sending warm thoughts your way from the Pacific Northwest--luckily we have not had a repeat of last year's "arctic blast" and it's practically balmy here in the 50-degree range.
I agree about the magical quality of the internet--for me it is like being Alice slipping through the looking glass into worlds beyond...my laptop is like a magic wand!!
Stay strong--the thaw is just around the corner...
Hi Valerie
Scotland sounds lovely! I'm not loving this cold winter, but I guess it's just the way of things some years.
Cheers,
Margot

Wow...50 degrees! I agree, it is magical and html code is a magic language.
Cheers,

Here in Hawaii, the Weather Channel says it is 62 degrees and fair. I wouldn't know - since I'm sitting in an air-conditioned office. I'm subliminally sending you sunshine and blue skies so that you can get on to more important things - like your awesome crafts!

I envy you living in Hawaii, it is my dream to move to a tropical locale and Hawaii is on the list!
Thank you for the sunshine and the kind compliments!
Cheers,

You'll probably dislike me intensely when I say I'm so over summer down here in Australia. It just goes on and on with no end in sight. I'm dreaming of cool crisp days and snuggling up under a blanky on the couch in the evenings and not waking up in pool of sweat in the middle of the night because we've had a power failure and the overhead fan isn't working. Our summers can be cruel and start about November and last well into April (nothing like melted chocolate Easter eggs). But having said all that I must admit that our winters are very mild and bearable.
It is cold here in L.A., but bright and clear after a big storm yesterday.
It's nice to have weather in L.A. But I know the cold can get tiresome very quickly. Wishing your warmth!
neato about the stats, fun!!!

I keep thinking of spending my winters in your part of the world so I never have to have them!
I simply have to visit Australia.

It's not usually cold in LA, but you all have had some wacky weather there for the past few years.

No, Thank You! For all the inspiration, for all the musings, for all the honest and open thoughts!
*A little wave from far far away*
Its summer here in Australia and its been a cracker.....very very hot days up in the mid 30s (celsius) with very high humidity ....so humid that you sweat while drying off from a shower.....I could do with a day of snow cos I am a little over it ...although come winter I will be wishing for summer again lol
